Hy-Vee and Avera Marshall have partnered on a project to open a Curaquick Avera Clinic. Upon completion, the new clinic will offer walk-in health care during days, weeknights and weekends for common family illnesses and conditions.

“The trend of locating care clinics in retail locations is a national one and we’re delighted to be bringing the concept to Marshall,” said Tom Ries, Hy-Vee’s store director. “Doing this project with Avera Marshall means there is better access the medical center’s resources if and when needed. That’s a great partnership and we believe this clinic will be a great new choice for Marshall consumers.”

The Curaquick Avera Clinic will be staffed by licensed nurse practitioners, working in consultation with Avera Marshall specialists or other health care practitioners as needed. Visits will cost $69 with additional fees for lab work, vaccines or immunizations. Clinical nurse practitioners will write prescriptions as needed that can be filled at Hy-Vee’s full-service pharmacy.  Hours of operation for the clinic are  Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Ries noted a recent news report indicating there were nearly 1,200 such retail clinics already in operation around the country and that they offered an attractive alternative for busy families.

“A visit to a Curaquick Avera Clinic is designed to be convenient, affordable and quick,” said Ries.  “It provides quality medical care for many everyday illnesses and conditions and does it in a location and schedule that works for today’s family.  Bringing this kind of service to our customers is part of our mission of making lives easier, healthier and happier.”

“This will be a great option for area consumers,” said Mary Maertens, Avera Marshall President and CEO. “This clinic will broaden the range of treatment options in Marshall and do so in a way that’s convenient and affordable.  We’re very pleased to be a part of this effort.”
